Arrival at the airport
By public transport:
The "City Airport Train (CAT)" or the train line S7 will take you directly into the city of Vienna ("Landstraße/Wien-Mitte" train station). From "Landstraße" take the underground line U4 (direction "Heiligenstadt") to "Schottenring" and change to the underground line U2 (direction "Karlsplatz"). Get off at "Schottentor".
By taxi:
There is a taxi stand directly in front of the arrival hall of the airport. It takes you about 30 minutes to get to the University of Vienna.
Arrival at Westbahnhof train station
By public transport:
From Westbahnhof take the tram number 5 (direction "Praterstern") and get off at "Spitalgasse". From there take a tram (lines 37, 38, 40, 41 or 42) to "Schottentor".
Alternatively, take the underground line U3 (direction "Simmering"), change to the underground line U2 at "Volkstheater" (direction "Wien Seestadt" or "Wien Aspernstraße") and get off at "Schottentor".
By taxi:
A taxi ride from Westbahnhof takes about 15 minutes.
