September 3 – 7, 2012
The Vienna Doctoral Program on Complex Quantum Systems is organizing a summer school on theoretical and experimental research topics at the intersection of quantum physics and general relativity. The school is targeted mainly at doctoral students but is also open to advanced Masters students as well as junior post-docs and will feature several lecture series by international experts.
Confirmed speakers and topics:
· Philippe Bouyer (University of Bordeaux, Institut d'optique and CNRS, France):
"Experimental gravitation and geophysics with matter-wave sensors"
· Michèle Heurs (Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics, Hannover, Germany):
"Gravitational wave detection and quantum control"
· Ulf Leonhardt (University of St. Andrews, UK):
"Gravity analogues in quantum systems"
· Carlo Rovelli (Centre de Physique Theorique de Luminy, Marseille, France)
"An introduction to quantum gravity for quantum physicists"
The school will take place September 3 – 7, 2012, at the Faculty of Physics, University of Vienna. The registration will open on Monday, March 26, 2012. The registration deadline is set for Tuesday, June 26, 2012. --> Link to registration.
